Quality Assurance Reviews
Headteachers and school leaders invariably know their school and context well. However, invaluable insights into the strengths and areas for development can be gained through working with an experienced, external and independent colleague who brings a fresh 'pair of eyes' to the organisation. Thus, our quality assurance work starts with gaining an honest and in-depth understanding of your school.
While much can be gleaned from a school's website, the SEF and School Development Plan, nothing can replace an in-person discussion with school leaders about what is going well and what needs to improve. From this, a visit focus is agreed and a programme of activities is established. It's about building a partnership around quality assurance work that, while rigorous and well-focused, is a 'done with' rather than a 'done to' experience.
A quality assurance focus can be as far-reaching or as in-depth as the school requires and might include one or more of the following:

As part of the partnership approach, the robust programme of evidence-gathering is not only agreed together but, where possible, carried out with senior and middle leaders as part of their professional development.
These activities are likely to include:

Information/data review

Learning explorations: classroom observations/walks and book looks

Interviews with key stakeholders: school leaders, teachers, students, governors and trust leaders.
Following the evidence-gathering process, leaders are given in-person feedback on the indicative outcomes of the work carried out. This is followed up with a full written report setting out the key findings, evidence gathered and recommendations for next steps.
